In the midst of the maelstrom of joyous activity that accompanies any group of children under the age of ten, I spotted this beautiful little boy watching me intensely as I fiddled with my lighting - the eye of the storm, as it were. I quickly picked up my camera and captured a few frames before he joined his cousins in their revelry. They were there to create a portrait with their adored - and adoring - grandmother. I was reminded of the often repeated advice among photographers - when you are intent on creating an image, be sure to look around, for the most beautiful scene might be behind you. To this I would add, look below you, especially when working with children!
